The proper pharmaceutical treatment for nail fungus is called terbinafine and itraconazole which you have to take in order to cure the fungus from within. But fortunately the less costly and more convenient natural and home remedies also work so that you will have no more nail fungus. Most of the natural treatments take weeks up to months until results are visible.

One popular natural remedy is distilled white vinegar. You have to apply drops of the vinegar to your cuticle twice a day. This remedy, like many others does not kill the fungus but instead the old infected nail grows out and is cut away. The vinegar changes the acid content of the new nail and thus a new acidic nail grows that cannot be inhabited by fungi. This method takes several months.

Listerine is another remedy which results in having no more nail fungus. Apply Listerine with cotton buds on your infected nail and let it soak in. You can wear it in your sock for the whole day, and results will show 3-4 weeks thereafter. Some people even suggest a half and half mix of Listerine and Vinegar in order have no more nail fungus.

Vicks VapoRub is also a home remedy. It contains Thymol, and thus fights fungi. It is advisable to obtain a more concentrated form of Thymol to speed up the process, but with a lot of patience and perseverance, you might have no more nail fungus in 3-4 months. Apply Vicks every day so that results will be visible after these months.

Keep cutting your nails as short as possible and keep your living space as warm and dry as possible so that the fungi cannot thrive. Hydrogen Peroxide is also a good cure for nail fungus. Just apply every day and in a short period, you will be able to get rid of those brown yellowish spots and you will have no more nail fungus. Lemongrass Oil is also a good remedy for nail fungus, after applying it turns black immediately which means that the fungus is dying. Keep reapplying to prevent further infections from other places.

While you can get your remedy from a doctor, you can also stay at home and choose between these different natural treatments which will make you have no more nail fungus.
